Hassanatu Bah

I am the founder of Natu Naturals. The Natu Naturals was born from my own story, a journey of identity, healing, and deep-rooted heritage. Growing up in West Africa, my thick, healthy Afro hair was a source of pride and connection to my culture. From a young age, I watched my grandmother, the woman I was named after, mix oils and butters by hand in her kitchen, always choosing natural ingredients to treat our hair and skin. She used to say, “Treat your hair like a garden—nurture it, and it will thrive.” That stayed with me.

But like many others, I eventually strayed from those roots. Influenced by global beauty standards, I damaged my hair with heat and chemicals in the pursuit of sleek, straight styles. My once-strong strands became brittle, lifeless, and thin. I lost confidence and lost touch with the beauty of my natural self.

When I moved to Australia, my natural hair journey began again, but I quickly realised how hard it was to find hair care made for me. Nothing I found truly catered to textured hair or used clean, nourishing ingredients. I saw a gap, not just in products, but in care.

So, I returned to what I knew. I started mixing my treatments, using oils, plant extracts, and deeply hydrating ingredients to restore my hair. My results were undeniable. And that healing turned into purpose.

That’s when Natu Naturals was born, not just as a brand, but as a movement. A clean, effective hair care range formulated for all textures, rooted in African tradition and powered by science. We’re here to honour the crown you were born with, curly, coily, straight, or wavy and give your hair the moisture, strength, and love it deserves.

Because healthy hair shouldn’t be a luxury, it should be your norm.
