Inspiring Hair Freedom

Enable Women Africa (EWA) is working at the grassroots level across Australia and Ghana to address the deep-rooted impact of hair discrimination on Black girls and women. We are focused on transforming how natural Black hair is perceived, shifting it from a site of shame or punishment to a celebrated symbol of identity, pride, and power.

Enable Women Africa

Enable Women Africa (EWA) is an emerging global not-for-profit organisation founded in Australia with a vision to end hair discrimination and restore cultural dignity for Black women and girls. EWA uses hair as a powerful symbol of identity to inspire change, celebrate heritage, and open pathways to opportunity, education, and empowerment.

There is a global crisis of exclusion and bias that targets the natural hair of Black girls and women, often forcing them to conform, cover up, or be punished for wearing their hair as it naturally grows.
